It's been a busy few weeks since the name change. Let's go through the changes!

Chaptergather now saves how far you've read. Open a book again and you land on the chapter you were reading, near the paragraph where you stopped. Cheery on top, we added a progress bar showing how far you are.

It even works if you don't want to create an account, but we would love for you to do so.

Authors can now set a status on their book: in progress, completed, on hold or abandoned. Your readers are waiting for the next update, but it may never come... As they supported you in the past, give back a bit of transparency.

For a more practical side, authors can now see how many readers opened each chapter and how many read it to the end.

The cards in Discover have been redesigned. The data on the front side has been a bit redistributed, and you can now see the status, and when the next chapter is due or when the last one was published. The synopsis is on the back: flip the card to read it. Literally, flip the card!

Links on your profile now show the site's icon and your handle instead of the full web address.

Any link can be added, but we also support a few more platforms' handle pattern: Bluesky, Ko-fi, Royal Road, Scribble Hub, Substack, Threads, Wattpad and others.

Yes, competitors are in the list. You are not restricted to use only Chaptergather, so why not expose yourself to more readers. It's up to us to make you all prefer Chaptergather.

Some more technical stuff has been done as well:

• Shared links now show a wide preview with the cover, title and author, and they work in social media.

• Covers and profile pictures load faster.

• "Add to home screen" works again.

You might have noticed a small change in the top left corner, we changed our name! ChapterStack is officially becoming Chaptergather!

Don't worry, everything stays exactly where you left it. Your books, chapters, drafts, badges, and account remain completely untouched. Only the name and web address have changed to chaptergather.app to better reflect what this place is all about: bringing writers and readers together.

Along with the new name, we've rolled out a few handy improvements over the past few weeks:

Whenever you share a link to your book or chapter in chat apps or social media, it will now show off your book cover, title, and description cleanly. Your stories and author profile are also much easier for new readers to discover online.

You can now see your chapter's word count in real time right as you write in the editor—no need to guess or copy-paste into another tool to check your progress.

We also squashed a few bugs and made performance tweaks along the way. If you are curious about the detailed list of fixes, take a look at our Release Notes.

Since our previous post introducing the news system, we pushed lot of small changes... Let's have a quick look.

Your profile can now display a badge under your name. Publish your first public chapter and you'll earn the Author badge automatically, and there are a couple of others to collect for those who joined us early.

You are in controle. No badge selected by default, it's up to you to decide which badge you display. You can always come back to change it, and even remove any badge if you prefer staying discreet.

More badges to come overtime.

We improve the UX for you to configure the cover of your book. That was one of the top feedback we received.

Hopefully, the new unified popup will prove easier to use. Let us know!

The profile edit page got refreshed: bigger profile picture, we reorganised a bit the data as well. Nothing ground breaking but hopefully it will make more sense for you to have better controle. And of course the new section to configure your badges.

Left, Center, Right ; the classic alignment trio is now available. And it is also carries into Word exports for maximum conveniency.

Narrow mode: any user can select to see a chapter either narrow, which is a bit more book-like side, or full width. It's available for any reader and even in the editor.

The main recent improvement is the synchronisation between your device and the platform: it should be quicker and uses a lot less data — handy if you write on mobile.
